The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and its Midshipmen rely on the generosity of alumni and friends to support its world renowned education and experience. More than 20% of USMMA alumni gave back in 2016 and helped the USMMA AAF raise over $2.4 million in contributions to the Area of Greatest Need.
The AAF encourages all Kings Point alumni to give back, help "pay it forward," and remain committed to the Academy long after graduation. With the introduction of the 5-Cents a Day campaign, we hope all Kings Pointers value their education at least at 5-Cents a Day and give back generously to the school that they love.
All Gifts Count Toward Class Gift: As of January 1, 2015, all donations made by Kings Pointers will count toward their reunion class gift. This change was made to eliminate the confusion many graduates had as to when their donation “counts” towards their class gift. Additionally, the change in policy will hopefully stimulate donations throughout the five-year cycle and not just the “once every five years.” The AAF wants to make sure Kings Pointers receive the proper recognition for gifts donated during the four years in-between reunion years. Rather than going “backwards,” and looking at previous totals, this is a forward-looking policy and it will take until 2010 to be on a five-year cycle.
Below is a drop down list to individual class pages to assist Kings Pointers by detailing their personal and class reunion gift goals for 2017 and Homecoming. All amounts are based off the 5-Cents a day chart. Thank you for considering a donation! Acta Non Verba! To see all classes, please click here for a chart.
*Please note the AAF will update the "cash in-hand" amount once a month leading to Homecoming. Pledges or other class commitments will not be shown in the listed amount. There is no change to the policy of only counting cash and cash
equivalents (either unrestricted or restricted). There is no change to
the policy of pledges of cash and cash equivalents being counted at the
check presentation but only cash donations received by year-end will be
included in the official totals.
