A group of ten classmates of George “Skip” Prosser ’72 journeyed to Wake Forest University in Salem, NC as a tribute to their close friend who served as the Head Coach of the “Demon Deacons” men’s basketball team from 2001 to 2007 before his sudden and untimely death. The group went to see Wake Forest play North Carolina at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum which recently hoisted a banner of Prosser to the rafters where all of the Wake’s outstanding players are acknowledged. The game was nationally televised on CBS and his classmates wore black shirts with large white letters spelling “W-A-K-E-F-O-R-E-S-T.” When introduced by the public announcer, they turned to show on their backs “K-I-N-G-S-P-O-I-N-T.” Completing the uniform was a jaunty skipper’s cap. The group included Chris Edwards, Scott Arrand, Ward Larson, Bill Gibbs, Steve Beuth, Jim Shugrue, Ed Robinson, Tom McGrath, John Boltz and John Colgan.
